Web Design class. And you thought going to school at 16 was tough. At 56, its even harder, and not as much fun. I am going to try and make it fun because it should be fun. Changing careers and learning new ways has been a life style I've lived, for so many years, so why stop now.
Web Design is only one study of many that I must complete. Graphic Design is my destination, Major, my goal that I am reaching for, wished I even knew how to go about studying, this is something else I need to learn and "quick like". If you are lucky enough to have a teacher that will provide you with everything you need to succeed, you will be designing web sites. I'm not quite sure I'll even like graphic design, until I try it but this Intro to Web Design class is satisfying my interests, hunger, maybe this is what I'll do. I'd sure like to hear from others who already went through this, just to hear what they discovered on their journey, whether it is web design, graphic design, photography or programming. My first concern is the school I attend, type of instruction and instructor. Doesn't really matter what your age, 20, 40 or 60, how do you go about it? Do you end up where you intended to be? With all this new technology, Web-2, Cloud Computing and all these new devices of communication and collaboration, setting these new trends will force many like me to learn to work with computers on a daily basis. It has arrived, "change" is mandatory so it is. I look around and see so many using their digital cameras, smartphones, ipods, mp3 players and laptops while in between their work and home computers, at work they are using some other digital device, handheld or at the the desk. This technology has caught up and passed me by. I need to search the Internet to find that extra help so to catch up. Help!
I'm on the disabled list, over 50 and lacking computer skills and the clock is ticking, actually, no its not, not a tick left in it, its digital. School might be to fast and I might be to slow, "time to change" me or the school, maybe both of us.
